Kwankwasiyya leader Danfulani Decamps to APC
Alhaji Amadu Danfulani, the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement in Kano State's Gobirawa Ward, Dala Local Government Area, switched from the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday.
Danfulani was dissatisfied with Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Political Movement.
According to the former NNPP leader, he and thousands of his supporters disapproved of the state's NNPP's policies and programs, which he described as anti-people. The Kano State APC Headquarters on the Hotoro-Maiduguri Road hosted Danfulani's defection ceremony.
The Danfulani and other defectors were "baptized" at the event by Kano State APC Chairman Abdullahi Abbas, who was accompanied by Alhaji Shehu Aliyu Ungoggo, the party's Zonal Chairman for Kano Central, and Rabiu Suleiman Bichi, Managing Director of Hadejia Jama'are River Basin Development Authority (HJRBDA).
