In an effort to protect citizens from the increasing risk of snake bites, the Kwara State Government has ordered an immediate statewide anti-snake fumigation exercise throughout residential buildings, institutions, and other regulated places. 

Following reports of an increase in snake bite incidences in some areas of the state, the Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency issued the warning on Saturday. 

All property owners and operators of regulated locations are urged to promptly comply with the regulation, according to a statement released by the agency's press secretary, Aliyu Amode.

The decision was made as a preventive public safety action to lessen the presence of snakes around homes, schools, offices, and other facilities throughout Kwara, according to the organization's general manager, Jide Aina. 

Aina emphasized that in order to save lives and guarantee a healthy living environment for people throughout the state, environmental safety procedures must be tightened.

“All regulated premises, institutions, and residential building owners across the state are hereby directed to immediately carry out anti-snake fumigation exercises as part of efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of residents,” he said.

He went on to say that the activity is a component of larger preventative measures meant to lessen the possibility of snake encounters in crowded places.
