Lagos family disclaims son's marriage to actress Wofai Fada
The recent union of Taiwo Cole, the Cole family's son from Victoria Island, Lagos, with well-known actress and comedian Wofai Fada has been openly shunned.
Following the internet release of pictures and videos from the traditional wedding ceremony held in Ugep, Cross River State, the family released a statement on Sunday denying the union.
Kunle Cole, the family patriarch, vehemently denied any knowledge or approval of the union, saying, “This serves to notify all acquaintances, family, and friends that the Cole family of Victoria Island, Lagos, are not aware of any marriage ceremony involving our son, Taiwo Olakitan Cole; neither did we grant permission nor support in this regard.”
The family issued a warning, stating that they should not be associated with any claims made by others through this occurrence.
“Person(s) parading themselves as new members of the Cole heritage by virtue of this purported event, are not known nor accepted by the family. All publications and documents being circulated about this are to be disregarded,” the statement continued.
Nevertheless, Wofai Fada and Taiwo Cole posted about their happiness on social media in spite of the family's disapproval.
