Lagos govt arraigns Chrisland school principal, others for manslaughter
In connection with the passing of Whitney Adeniran, a 12-year-old student at Chrisland School in Opebi, the Lagos State government on Thursday filed charges against the school, its vice principal, principal, and two staff members.
Ademoye Adewale, Kuku Fatai, Ms. Belinda Amao, Nwatu Ugochi Victoria, and Chrisland School Limited are among the school employees who were charged before Judge Oyindamola Ogala of the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja.
The state has filed two counts of accusations against the defendants that centred on reckless and negligent behaviour and involuntary manslaughter.
When the court and counsel attempted to agree on a date for the start of the trial, the school's principal, Mrs. Belinda Amao, sobbed inside the dock.
