Lagos govt closes nightclub over noise pollution
Due to noise pollution, the Lagos State government has closed down the well-known nightclub Silk Club, which is located at 190 Awolowo Road in Ikoyi.
Tokunbo Wahab, the commissioner for environment and water resources, revealed this in a statement on Saturday evening.
According to the commissioner, the nightclub was shut down on his orders by agents from the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, who also carried out a nocturnal enforcement operation nearby.
“As I directed, the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency @LasepaOfficial conducted a nighttime enforcement operation, leading to the closure and sealing of Silk Club at 190, Awolowo Road, Ikoyi due to noise pollution,†he disclosed this on X (formerly Twitter).
