Lagos High Court grants Cubana Chief Priest N10m bail
Pascal Okechukwu, better known as Cubana Chief Priest, is a businessman and socialite.
The Federal High Court in Lagos State granted him N10 million in bail on Wednesday, along with two sureties in the same amount.
Earlier in his trial, the well-known barman entered a not-guilty plea to charges of manipulating and abusing the currency.
Cubana Chief Priest was charged with three counts of abusing naira after he reportedly violated the Central Bank Act of 2007 by misting and tampering with the country's currency during a social gathering.
The charges were brought before Justice Kehinde Ogundare.
It was claimed that on February 13, 2024, in the Eko Hotel, he sprayed the naira. It was also said that Cubana Chief Priest had committed the charges while dancing at a social gathering.
It was said that he had tampered with money by spraying N500 notes that the CBN had issued for two hours.
