Lagos-Ibadan Expressway accident leaves three dead, seven injured
In an accident involving two vehicles at the Conoil filling station axis on the Lagos-Ibadan motorway on Saturday, three people were confirmed dead and seven more injured.
Mrs. Florence Okpe, the Federal Road Safety Corps' (FRSC) public education officer for Ogun State, verified the accident in a statement made in Abeokuta yesterday.
According to her, the accident happened at 9:23 p.m. and involved a trailer bearing the JJN 32 YX marking and a Toyota Hiace bus registered RLG 846 XA.
According to Okpe, the driver lost control of the vehicle due to speeding, which is what caused the accident.
A spokesman for the FRSC continued, "The accident involved 18 people—16 men and 2 women."
According to her, three people died and seven people were injured in the collision.
According to Okpe, the dead were placed in the hospital's mortuary while the injured victims were brought to Idera Hospital in Sagamu for medical care.
According to her, the Sector Commander, Anthony Uga, urged motorists “to consider this period of high vehicular movement and poor visibility due to weather conditions.â€
Uga, while condemning speeding among motorists, said: “Common sense speed limit is the best.â€Â Â
