Lagos-Ibadan Expressway auto accident leaves one dead, three injured
One person was killed in a single collision involving a Toyota Sienna (KTU 666 JP) near Conoil, inside Secretariat, along the Lagos-Ibadan Motorway, according to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).
The driver was tragically killed in the early hours of yesterday morning's tragedy, and three other passengers—two men and one woman—were seriously injured.
Following a fast response, members of the Lagos State Ambulance Services (LASAMBUS) provided vital first aid before transferring the injured individuals to the Lagos State Accident and Emergency Centre at Toll Gate for immediate medical attention.
The driver was under the influence of alcohol, according to preliminary investigations, and lost control of the vehicle while driving too fast. First responders from LASTMA retrieved 15 sachets of gin, a phone, and N48,200 from the car during the rescue effort.
In order to minimise any traffic interruptions, LASTMA agents hauled the damaged vehicle to the agency's yard, while FRSC police who were also on the scene evacuated the deceased's body to a mortuary in Yaba.
