Lagos man arraigned for defiling lover's 12-year-old daughter
Nnamdi Dike, a 41-year-old man, was charged on Monday in Ikeja Chief Magistrates' Court with allegedly defiling his lover's 12-year-old daughter.
A sexual assault case is being brought against the defendant, a security guard who resides at 27, Salami St., Akute, Ogun State.
According to the prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, the defendant committed the crime at 37, Shogbade St., Power Line area, Ifako Ijaiye, Lagos, at some point in November 2022.
According to the prosecutor, the 12-year-old victim confided in her teacher about how the defendant, who was her mother's lover, allegedly molested her sexually.
Akeem continued by saying that the defendant would frequently molest the girl when her mother was away from the house and would make death threats if she notified anybody.
However, according to Akeem, the teacher told the victim's mother, who reported the incident to the police station.
The crime, according to the prosecution, violated section 137 of the Lagos State Criminal Law from 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Bola Osunsanmi, who refused to take the defendant‘s plea, ordered his remand in Kirikiri Correctional Center pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The case was then postponed until June 26 by the magistrate.
