Lagos police arrest two suspected cultists
Two suspected members of the Eiye confraternity have reportedly been detained by the Lagos State Police Command. They are said to have been out for blood after one of their number was killed.
This was confirmed to reporters on Wednesday in Lagos by the Command's spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin.
According to Hundeyin, the suspects were detained before carrying out their plans to assassinate several members of their rival organization, Aiye Confraternity.
He said that Olosan police officers from Mushin, who had one locally produced pistol, had apprehended the culprits at the Mushin Bus Stop.
He claimed that they admitted to terrorizing abattoirs in the Agege area as members of the Eiye confraternity.
According to the creator of the photograph, the suspects admitted further that they bought the rifle in Mushin to exact revenge on Aiye members who killed one of their comrades in an Agege abattoir.
According to Hundeyin, the arrest of the culprits prevented the region from experiencing a new crisis because there would have been another violent fight between the two opposing parties.
He issued a warning that the state's police would not tolerate any cult-related activities.
Those who want to engage in any form of violence, he continued, should either leave Lagos or face the wrath of the command.
