Lagos policeman dies after getting attacked by Okada riders
On Friday, the Lagos State Police Command confirmed the death of an Inspector assigned to the Iponri Division who was hurt following an attack by individuals thought to be okada riders.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, verified the event to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
According to Hundeyin, one of the police officers attacked by the attackers at Ijora Olopa on Thursday was the Inspector, whose name was not mentioned.
The officer was brought to the hospital on Thursday after the incident, where he later passed away on Friday, according to him.
According to the creator of the photograph, the police officers were attacked while enforcing the Okada limitation law of the Lagos State government in the region.
According to him, no arrests had been made as of Friday night, when this article was published.
They were pursuing the perpetrators of the attack, according to Hundeyin.
