Lampard gives update on Iwobi's injury, says player will undergo scan
Frank Lampard spoke about Alex Iwobi's injury after Everton lost 3-1 to Manchester United in the FA Cup on Friday.
Early in the second half of the game at Old Trafford, the 26-year-old Nigerian international fell awkwardly after a challenge from defender Tyrell Malacia, and he was taken away on a stretcher.
The Super Eagle will have to get a scan on Saturday, according to Lampard.
Iwobi played well for the Toffees prior to getting hurt, providing opportunities that went unutilized before being substituted by Abdoulaye Doucoure.
For Lampard, whose job it is to increase Everton's prospects of remaining in the Premier League, his injury will be a problem. With 18 starts in the league for the Toffees, the former Arsenal star has one goal and one assist.
The goal is for him to be healthy and available for Saturday's league match between Southampton and Everton at Goodison Park.
