Faith Alayande, a 23-year-old student at the Nigerian Law School, died after allegedly falling from the rooftop of a four-story hostel building on the school's campus in Victoria Island, Lagos, according to the Lagos State Police Command.

According to Abimbola Adebisi, the command's public relations officer, the incident was reported to the police on Friday after the dead was discovered unconscious on the hostel grounds.

According to Adebisi, the institution's matron reported the incident and revealed that a relative and another student had allegedly discovered the deceased student's suicide note, which prompted them to look for her.

She mentioned that she had supposedly leaped from the rooftop of the four-story hostel building before they could find her.

She said, “I can confirm the incident. The deceased reportedly wrote a suicide note and, before her hostel mate and a relative could locate her, she jumped from the rooftop of a four-storey building.

“The matron of the hostel reported the incident, prompting police operatives to visit the scene. Her body has been evacuated to a morgue for preservation.”

Additionally, Zagazola Makama, a security analyst who provided information on the occurrence on X, revealed that another student discovered the body dead on the hostel grounds on Friday and notified the institution's matron.

Makama claims that at around 6:30 a.m., the Chief Matron of the Law School reported the event to the Victoria Island Police Division.
