Lightning strikes two women to death in Lagos
In the FESTAC region of Lagos State, two women have perished after being struck by lightning during a downpour.
The state's police spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, announced this on Saturday in a post he uploaded on his X handle, @benHundeyin.
According to Hundeyin, the incident took place on Friday during the downpour.
“Somewhere on First Avenue, FESTAC, two women remained indoors during the downpour yesterday.
“Lightning struck, electrocuting them instantly and causing a fire outbreak,” he said.
He claimed that the victims were under high-voltage lines in a shack.
The police spokesperson expressed condolences for the departed and wished them their eternal repose.
