LP candidate Peter Obi urges unity among Nigerians
Peter Obi, the Labour Party's presidential candidate, has urged all Nigerians to work together to create a new nation.
Obi, in his New Year's message, which was made accessible to The PUNCH on Sunday, urged Nigerians to "take back Nigeria" in order to address all of the issues the country is now facing as they elect leaders in February 2023.
Obi emphasized the significance of uniting against failed leadership and making the right choice, adding that if given the chance to lead the nation, he would carry out all of his campaign pledges. He added that the upcoming elections would determine the course of the country in the following four years.
The LP candidate said, “2023 is an existential year in the history of our nation. It is a year we all must unite against the continued abuse of our nation’s democracy and economy. The power is in our hands to take back our nation, in the coming year, and make it work.â€
Obi reiterated his commitment to securing the nation, bringing Nigerians together, and transitioning the country from consumption to production. He pleaded with Nigerians for their help in saving the country.
When given access to power, he urged Nigerians to hold him accountable for his pledges to build a better country.
“I have made a pact with Nigerians and I will not leave any of my promises unfulfilled. Nigerians can hold me accountable by my words of promise,†Obi added.
He wished Nigerians a fruitful 2023 and asked them to uphold the law while contributing to the country's expansion and prosperity.
