Mabest Academy Akure Holds it's 3rd Biennial Inter-House Sports Competition

SIGHTS AND SCENES FROM THE 3RD BIENNIAL INTER-HOUSE SPORTS COMPETITION AT MABEST ACADEMY & ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, AKURE

The keenly contested 3rd biennial mini-Olympic standard event started with an official opening parade led by Cadet Commandant Oluwatoyosi Ale and the Head of Schools (HOS) Mrs. Olubunmi C. Olajide with blasting tunes from the Nigerian Army band.

The HOS implored all members of staff and students to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship as she tagged the fiesta 'No victor, no vanquished.'

In her welcome address, the President of Mabest Academy Students' Representative Council, Bukola Sophia Ebitigha thanked all the invited guests for coming and seized the opportunity to extol the academic feats of the school, most especially the 2022 Ondo State Most Outstanding IGCSE Result achievement.

The grand finale witnessed soccer finals between Scribes (Green House) and Saints (Blue House) which ended 5 - 2 in favour of the Scribes. Other events featured include hurdles, sprints, tyre race, fill in the basket and lots more.

The grand finale also witnessed the official commissioning of the newly completed multi-million naira multifaceted court of the school by the Chief of Staff to the Ondo State Governor and Chairman of the occasion, Chief Olugbenga.

Chief Ale admonished the students to take their academics as their priorities just as they are devoted to sporting activities.

Shortly after the commissioning, Mrs. Olajide (the HOS) led the school management and all dignitaries to the school sports complex for group photograph sessions.

At the end of the enthusiastically contested and glamorous event, the Green House popularly addressed as Scribes came 1st with 222 points, Nobles (Red House) came 2nd with 202 points, Spartans (Yellow House) came 3rd with 171 points, while  Saints (Blue House) came 4th on the table.

While in the Elementary School, the Ravens (Blue House) came 1st with 70 points, Woodpecker (Grey House) came 2nd with 171 points, Griffins (Red House) came 3rd with 63 points while Dove (White) came 4th with 59 points.

The occasion was graced by eminent dignitaries from far and near, among which was the Commander of Ondo State Security Network (Amotekun) Corp, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, Director of News and Current Affairs in Ondo State Radio-vision Corporation in person of Mr. Akinwumi Abodunde. Also in attendance was Chairman of Mabest Academy Governing Board, Pastor (Mrs) Odeyemi ably represented by Pastor Samuel Odeyemi and other well meaning Nigerians.
