Maiduguri airport to begin first international flight operations
By January 1, 2025, Maiduguri's General Muhammadu Buhari International Airport is expected to open for full international traffic.
During a one-day work visit to the plant in Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria, Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, joined other delegates.
In order to improve connectivity for the North East Zone and bolster Maiduguri's position in international air travel and freight transit, airport facilities are being renovated.
Keyamo's work in the nation's aviation since his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was praised by Governor Zulum at the meeting.
In order to guarantee the successful start of operations on January 1, 2025, the governor reiterated the Borno State Government's dedication to working in tandem with the federal government.
Noting that the General Muhammadu Buhari International Airport is on track to become the first fully functional international airport in the North East Zone, Keyamo underlined the project's significance as a symbol of resilience and growth for the area.
