Man dies of electrocution in Rivers wine bar
A young man working at a Rivers State wine bar by the name of Austine was electrocuted. The unfortunate event happened on Wednesday at a well-known wine bar in the state's Rumuekini Community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
According to reports, the man, an electrician from Kogi State, was repairing an electrical issue in the aforementioned wine bar when he passed away.
The bar's management notified the Choba Police Division of the development, and officers were dispatched to the location. On Saturday that police had removed the deceased's body and conducted an on-the-spot investigation of the area.
The incident was confirmed by Mrs. Grace Iringe-Koko, a Superintendent of Police, who is the Public Relations Officer of the state Police Command, when reached at the time of publication.
Iringe-Koko said: “Yes, I can confirm the incident. Police officers from Choba Police have visited the scene for preliminary investigation and further investigation is still on. The corpse of the deceased has been deposited in mortuary.”
