Man gets jailed for assaulting police and attacking police dog
For biting a police dog on the head and attacking a police officer during his arrest, a man was given an eight-month prison sentence.
On the evening of Sunday, August 14, police apprehended Matthew Boulter, 34, of Grimsby after receiving reports that he had allegedly attacked three people and caused criminal damage in front of a venue on Bethlehem Street.
The court was informed that Boulter attacked and kicked some fencing in the direction of a Humberside police officer while being detained for assault, resulting in minor wounds.

According to the authorities, PD Xander made a complete recovery and went back to work the next day. Assaulting emergency service personnel is unacceptable, and our police dogs offer valuable support, said Detective Sergeant Thomas Crosfill. They are officers in the police force. Fortunately, PD Xander recovered quickly and went back to work the next day.
The attack on a police dog in the line of duty is not the first occurrence.
PD Logan, who retired in June, served with the Humberside Police for seven and a half years, during which he was shot three times.
On Tuesday, August 16th, Boulter was given an eight-month prison term after pleading guilty to assaulting a member of the emergency services, torturing an animal needlessly, assaulting, causing criminal damage, and two counts of battery.
