Man sentenced to prison for assaulting Lagos official
A man only known as Paul was given a nine-month prison sentence by a mobile court in Oshodi for attacking Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps staff and failing to use a pedestrian bridge. Tokunbo Wahab, the state commissioner for the environment and water resources, revealed this on Thursday in a post on his X Twitter.Wahab wrote, “Paul was apprehended on April 16 for not using the pedestrian bridge at Agbado Oke Odo, and in the process, he assaulted and wounded the enforcement personnel of LAGESCOfficial (KAI).
“The mobile court sitting at Oshodi yesterday sentenced him to nine months imprisonment.”
The ministry had recently warned residents against shunning pedestrian bridges, as it described the crossing of major highways in the state by pedestrians as an offence.
