Man suffers electric injury while stealing from FAAN power installation

An unnamed individual who was allegedly trying to steal electrical lines from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) powerhouse at the Lagos airport was shocked by electricity.

At the inauguration of a 30-man security team that would work at the Lagos airport on Monday, FAAN's Managing Director, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, made the announcement.

Kuku said that the unidentified individual had illegally entered a facility housing FAAN power generators, confirming that the electric shock incident occurred recently.

She said that when he was electrocuted, the man was disconnecting the installations that provided electricity to the airport.

The managing director claims that every effort is being made by the organisation to close any gaps that would let unauthorised individuals to enter airports.

She claimed that thieves had broken through airport perimeter fences and taken off with airfield lighting equipment. FAAN, she added, had been anticipating the reveal of the 30-man security team.

She claims that a significant amount of money has been spent on airport security, including purchasing weapons and ammunition, training staff, and building armoury.
