Man tries to commit suicide on Lekki-Ikoyi Bridge
 A man who is yet to be identified was rescued during an attempt to commit suicide on the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge in Lagos. According to the PUNCH, the man left his place in the city and went to the bridge and attempted to commit suicide. Passersby alongside the patrol team of the Lekki Concession Company quickly intervened and prevented the man from jumping into the water. The man was seen in a viral video posted on social media, where he was shedding tears while trying to resist the grip of the rescuers and patrol team. “You can see promotion, your future is bright, it is ok. You are a man, cool down. Your future is bright, come let me find work for you,†a woman who was part of the rescue team, said as they discouraged him from attempting to jump into the water. The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident to our correspondent.
