Microsoft features a new Xbox Game Pass widget in recent Windows 11
A new Game Pass widget has been added to the Windows 11 widgets panel in a new preview build from Microsoft for the operating system. The most recent Windows 11 build, 25174, is available for download and testing by Dev Channel participants. The firm has updated its blog post to mark the release of the latest preview build, which includes a new widget called the Game Pass widget that will highlight PC titles that have just been added to or will soon be removed from the Game Pass service.
In addition, the tech giant asserted that the widget would soon enable users to sign into their Xbox profiles and perhaps even quickly launch games they had previously been playing. In addition to these changes, the new build also contains enhancements to the File Explorer application, which now enables users to open folders in new tabs with a middle mouse click.
Microsoft has been collaborating with the Xbox team to enhance the integration of Windows and PC Game Pass, according to the blog post.
The business explains that the Game Pass widget will act as a window to the vast PC Game Pass collection, displaying the most recent additions, departing games, and other games from categories that have been marked. The widget should also drive visitors to the Xbox app so they can download games, read user reviews, and receive more information.
Additionally, the new build will enable users to middle-click a folder in File Explorer's navigation pane to open it in a new tab. The tabbed File Explorer is necessary for this feature, but it hasn't yet been sent to everyone in the Dev Channel.
A problem that could result in explorer.exe crashing while launching new File Explorer windows has also been resolved in the most recent release. The tech behemoth has also resolved numerous more File Explorer problems with the UI and Dark mode.
The most recent update is also said to address problems that prevented keyboard and mouse input from functioning properly in some titles. In addition, Microsoft has updated this new preview release with some updates for Windows Security.
