Missing ex-ASSU chairman found in Turkey
Former Academic Staff Union of Universities President Dipo Fasina, sometimes known as "Jingo," who had previously been reported missing, has been discovered in Turkey.
According to reports, the former ASUU chair has been missing since Saturday, July 1.
Fasina was discovered at the airport and would be travelling to Nigeria on Monday, according to a tweet sent on Sunday by The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission.
The Nigerian High Commission in Turkey was praised by NIDCOM for working with them to find the scholar.
NIDCOM wrote: “The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, in collaboration with the Nigerian High Commission in Turkey, has successfully located Prof Fasina, who went missing for a few days at Istanbul Airport while connecting on a flight back home.
“Mr Fasina, 76, was travelling to Algeria when he was said to have missed his connecting flight from Istanbul, Turkey.â€
“A big thanks to the Nigerian Ambassador to Turkey who immediately sent officials to the Airport to physically locate him in the very busy and huge Istanbul Airport.â€
