Moon Embracing the Sun actor, Song Jae-rim, dies at 39
Song Jae-rim, a South Korean actor and former model who gained popularity in K-dramas, was discovered dead in Seoul on Tuesday. His age was 39.
According to Seoul Seongdong police, Song's body was discovered in his flat by a friend who had intended to join him for lunch that day.
Although a message was found in the flat, a police official said that there was no sign of foul play at the scene.
“Our initial investigation so far, has revealed no signs of criminal activity,” police said. “Since the family did not want an autopsy, we will proceed with transferring the deceased to his family’s custody.” Police added that they will investigate the cause of the death following standard procedures.
Song, who was born in 1985, had his entertainment debut in the 2009 movie "Actresses." He became well-known for playing a royal guard in the historical drama "Moon Embracing the Sun" in 2012. He also became even more well-known after appearing on the reality show "We Got Married."
In October, he played his last role in the musical "La Rose De Versailles." Song's last two Instagram pictures, which were selfies taken in January, had received over 61,000 likes.
