More than 100 people killed, many injured as fight rages in Sudan
According to reports, fighting between Sudan's military and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continues in Khartoum, the capital city, leaving at least 100 people dead and numerous others injured.
Voice of America (VOA) reported on Monday that as calls for a truce increase, both sides are claiming control of important sites.
The primary battlegrounds between the military and the Rapid Support Forces right now are the military headquarters, the international airport in Khartoum, and the districts close to the presidential palace.
The fighting is said to have disrupted the capital's water and power infrastructure, making life more challenging for those confined indoors by the conflict and those who were hurt in the skirmishes.
More than 1,800 people have been hurt in the violence, according to Volker Perthes, the UN envoy to Sudan, who also cautioned that many people are unable to get to hospitals for treatment due to the fighting.
