According to reports, a car accident on the Osogbo/Gbongan Road in Osun State's Ogidi village axis claimed the lives of seven commuters and injured three more.

According to Channels, a Nissan Sharon in the colour ash with the licence plate WWD57AE was involved in the collision.

According to an eyewitness, the driver of the car, who was reportedly going from Osogbo to Odeomu, was travelling at a fast pace when he lost control and went into a ditch.

The event occurred on Saturday, according to Henry Benamaisai, Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Osun State.

According to Benamaisai, the accident involved ten people.

“The injured victims were rushed to the Osun State University Teaching Hospital Osogbo, while the remains of the deceased have been deposited in the morgue at the hospital,” he said.

He said that the FRSC officials were assisted in the operation by members of the Nigerian Police Force.

Two bags that contained garments were found at the accident scene, he added.

However, the head of the FRSC urged drivers to always exercise caution and follow all traffic laws to prevent accidents that could result in the loss of life or property.
