Multichoice DSTV will no longer broadcast TB Joshua's Emmanuel TV
The religious TV network Emmanuel TV will no longer be broadcast by Multichoice DStv, as it has notified viewers of this decision.
T.B. Joshua, the late founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), founded Emmanuel TV.
This arises from a contentious documentary that the British Broadcasting Corporation, or BBC, produced disparaging the clergyman.
People claiming to be former church members who admit to being molested and tortured by the late prophet are featured in the widely shared documentary.
Multichoice stated in an on-screen message that the discontinuation will happen on January 17, 2024.
The message read, “Dear viewer, please note that Emmanuel TV will exit on the 17th of January 2024. Thank you for watching.â€
Along with breaking up with MultiChoice, Emmanuel TV is also going to stop providing service on StarSat and other pay-TV providers.
This event came about as a result of a contentious three-part BBC documentary that accused the late TB Joshua of sexual offences and atrocities against his followers.
According to the DAILY POST, the BBC conducted interviews with at least thirty purported former SCOAN members and employees as part of an investigation into the late cleric and his church.
