NAF aircraft crashes in Niger
The Nigerian Air Force's (NAF) helicopter has crashed.
Authorities from the NAF confirmed the incident and identified the helicopter as an MI-171.
According to them, on August 14 at around 1 p.m., a helicopter carrying out a casualty evacuation mission crashed close to Chukuba village in Niger State.
The plane left Zungeru Primary School on its way to Kaduna, according to Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, director of public relations and information.
However, it was eventually found to have crashed close to Chukuba Village in Niger State's Shiroro Local Government Area.
He claimed that efforts were still being made to save the helicopter's crew and passengers.
He announced that first investigations had started to identify the crash's most likely cause.
