NAF airstrikes eliminate terrorists in Niger
Targeting terrorists responsible for recent attacks in Niger, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out a series of precision airstrikes under Operation FANSAN YAMMA Sector 1 that have killed dozens of terrorists in support of ground forces.
The NAF's Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, made this announcement on Friday in Abuja. According to Ejodame, the airstrikes were carried out between June 24 and June 26 in response to reliable intelligence.
He said that the NAF had discovered terrorist activities involving attacks and cattle rustling in the communities of Kakihun and Kumbashi through inter-service and inter-agency collaboration.
“Swiftly deploying air assets, the Air Component executed multiple waves of precision strikes that neutralised scores of terrorists, destroyed their logistics, and disrupted regrouping efforts.
“The operation demonstrated NAF’s professionalism, rapid response capability, and strong coordination with ground forces and other agencies.
“The Nigerian Air Force remains resolutely committed to protecting the lives and property of all Nigerians and ensuring lasting peace across the country,” he said.
