NAFDAC shuts Kaduna warehouse containing N75m worth of expired products

A Kaduna warehouse that had over N75 million worth of expired food and cosmetics has been closed by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).

The warehouse is situated at PP2A Bayajidda Street along Kano Road, New Ogbomosho Road, the agency announced on Tuesday on its official X handle.

NAFDAC clarified that the agency officials' enforcement operation was prompted by a tip from a concerned individual.

“During the raid, workers were caught repackaging expired biscuits into sacks and other expired items, including dairy milk, vegetable oil, soft drinks, and detergents, were also discovered,” the agency reveals.

The managing director of the warehouse has been taken into custody for questioning, according to NAFDAC.
