NAHCON announces Hajj fare increment by 1.9m
According to the Nigerian National Hajj Commission, pilgrims who registered for the 2024 Hajj before the prior deadline of February 12 will now need to pay the remaining N1.9 million, adjusted for the current currency rate.
Before the commission closes its operations and stops accepting payments on March 29, 2024, pilgrims are commanded by NAHCON to settle the outstanding amount.
This was contained in a statement titled “NAHCON releases new developments on 2024 Hajj” and signed by NAHCON’s Assistant Director of Public Affairs, Fatima Usara, on Sunday.
The commission had set the minimum fare costs at N4.5 million in October 2023, but in February it reviewed the pricing and increased them to N4,699,000 for pilgrims travelling from the North, N4,899,000 for those travelling from the South, and N4,679,000 for pilgrims travelling from Adamawa State.
