After closing worse each year since 2024, this is the first time the Naira has ended April with a gain.

The results show a time of increased foreign exchange market stability and a slow recovery of trust in Nigeria's monetary system.

When compared to levels from a year ago, the growth also represents a significant comeback.

The local currency maintained a generally stable trajectory during April, with less volatility than in March, according to the official foreign exchange market. Due to better liquidity conditions and sporadic demand pressures that were mostly restrained during the month, trading activity stayed within a rather small range.
