Nasarawa court remands gospel singer Timilehin Ajayi who killed corps member
The famous gospel singer Timilehin Ajayi was arrested in possession of the severed head of Salome Adaidu, a member of the National Youth Service Corps, and a Nasarawa State High Court has ordered his remand.
A brief announcement on the remand was published on the Nasarawa State Police Command's X website on Friday.
The suspect was arraigned pending his formal arraignment, the statement said.
The statement read, “Timilehin Ajayi was charged to court today and remanded in prison custody pending his formal arraignment.”
Churchgoers detained Ajayi after he was accused of killing and dismembering Adaidu for supposed ceremonial purposes.
According to Caleb Umaru, the general secretary and Bible study teacher for the church, a member had observed Ajayi acting strangely close to a river.
0When Ajayi dropped a bag into the river, he said, the aforementioned member notified others. The bag was later recovered and discovered to contain his girlfriend's decapitated head.
