NCC authorises 50% tariff adjustment for telecom operators
In light of growing operating expenses and the necessity to maintain the sector, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has authorised a 50% rate adjustment for telecom operators.
Reuben Muoka, the Director of Public Affairs, signed a news release on Monday announcing the judgement, which emphasises the Commission's regulatory function under Section 108 of the Nigerian Communications Act, 2003.
Following rigorous analysis of market conditions and ongoing industry reforms aimed at promoting sustainability, the authorised adjustment is much lower than the over 100% requested by certain companies.
