NDLEA apprehends 150 drug traffickers in Nasarawa
No fewer than 150 alleged drug traffickers were taken into custody by the Nasarawa State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency between July 2023 and June 2024, according to the command.
The revelation was made on Wednesday at the grand conclusion of a week-long celebration to honour the 2024 United Nations International Day Against Abuse and Illegal Trafficking in Lafia by the State Commander of the NDLEA, Peter Onche-Odaudu.
According to Onche-Odaudu, during the period under review, 7,148.95 holograms of illegal narcotics were found, and the suspects included 144 men and 6 women.
The commander stated that 7,037.2 kg of Indian hemp, 0.011 kg of cocaine, 0.185 kg of methamphetamine, and 111.53 kg of various psychotropic compounds made up the more than seven tonnes of evidence that were taken into custody.
