Olisaka Chibuzo Calistus, a businessman, was detained by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for smuggling 256 wraps of cocaine through the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Kano, while concealed in his body.

In a statement, Femi Babafemi, Director, Media and Advocacy, NDLEA Headquarters, Abuja, said the six-kilogram drugs were the biggest cocaine interception at the airport since the establishment of the NDLEA's MAKIA Command in 2006.

According to the statement, the seizure occurred on December 15 of this year while passengers were being cleared inbound on Ethiopian Airlines Flight ET 941 from Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire via Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

It stated that Olisaka, who identifies himself as an importer and exporter, had hundreds of cocaine pellets packed inside his body after undergoing a physical check.
