NDLEA arrests man with fake $20m notes on Lokoja-Abuja Highway
On the Lokoja-Abaji Highway, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency agents conducted a "Stop-and-Search" operation that resulted in the seizure of $20 million in counterfeit currency.
The phoney currency was found on a bus moving from Lagos to Abuja, according to NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi, who made the announcement on Sunday in Abuja.
Onyebuchi Nlebedim, the 53-year-old driver of the car, was reportedly detained, according to him.
Additionally, Jude Ndubuisi, 52, was detained on August 17 during a raid in Kabusa village, Federal Capital Territory, while in possession of 2.2 kg of methamphetamine, according to Babafemi.
He stated that the suspect had previously been detained on July 7, 2022, for having 20.75kg of Indian hemp, and that he was out on court-issued bail when he was taken into custody for yet another drug-related offence.
