NDLEA nabs two drug traffickers in Lagos, seizes cocaine, heroine
Multiple shipments of cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine that were being readied for export to Europe were intercepted by National Drug Law Enforcement Agency officials in Lagos, along with the arrest of two suspected drug kingpins.
Following weeks of information collection and surveillance by the Agency's Special Operations Unit (SOU), the individuals were arrested for allegedly leading distinct narcotics syndicates, according to a statement issued by NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi on Sunday.
“While 64-year-old Nwosa parades himself as a successful textile merchant, 49-year-old Obiegbu is known to many as a businessman who is into wine distribution, but beneath their outward appearance is their hidden illicit drug business unearthed by NDLEA operatives after months of intelligence gathering on the two syndicates led by them,” the statement read.
Major interceptions in other states were also reported by Babafemi. On September 27, 26-year-old Baba Kaka Ibrahim was taken into custody in Borno when it was discovered that 39,380 tramadol and exol-5 pills were concealed in the engine compartment of a Mercedes-Benz GLK.
