Ned Nwoko's wife, Laila, explains why her marriage crashed

The estranged wife of Nigerian businessman Ned Nwoko, Laila Charani, has explained why her union failed.

She said that her marriage ended because she paid too much attention to strangers.

On Saturday, September 3, Laila made this statement and apologized publicly to the family of the Nigerian businessman for the way she ended her marriage, saying she wanted peace and growth for her family. She further shared a photo of herself, Ned, and the kids.

“This is to my entire Ned Nwoko family. I have realised that I made mistakes. They were not intentional. I listened too much to outsiders and I have decided to apologise to my husband and other members of the family. I want peace and progress in the family 🙏,” she said.

In 2021, Laila publicly declared her breakup with Nwoko on social media.

At that time the mother of three wrote: “Hello Guys, I just want to say that no one has the right to talk about my marriage. Please stop talking about people’s lives. I have divorced him already and there is nothing between me and him. Anybody following me because of him can unfollow please. Thanks. I’ll block any negative comments.”

A few weeks after she announced their split, Nwoko issued a statement in which he explained the cause of their breakdown in marriage.

The politician from the Delta claimed that Laila reportedly left their children and went out clubbing.

He asserted that after she got into a physical altercation with a male clubgoer, the police were called to investigate. Additionally, he asserted that she went on her pointless journey and caught the terrible Coronavirus.

Along with that, Nwoko claimed she had a cosmetic operation in London without his consent and charged her with acting the victim on social media.

Laila discussed some of her struggles and the problems in their marriage during an Instagram live session in February 2022.

She claimed that when she wed him as a virgin, she had never encountered a woman residing with Nwoko, but he later ended her modelling career.

Laila further said that after Nwoko wed actress Regina Daniels, her marriage crumbled.

She mentioned that Nwoko was cruel to her and her children because he would post pictures of them on social media as if he loved them while utterly ignoring them for days.

Laila claims that Nwoko only expressed her love for her and her children on social media while completely focusing on Daniels and her kid.

When she could no longer handle the pressure, Laila added that the 10 years she spent with Nwoko were the worst of her life and that she had to look for work to provide a bright future for her children.
