Nicki Minaj faces lawsuit for damaging borrowed jewelry
Professors at the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic in Owo, Ondo State, have started a strike in response to news that the well-known Trinidadian-American musician Nicki Minaj is being sued by a jewellery business for failing to pay for custom jewellery she was given and allegedly destroyed.
According to TMZ, Roseark, a high-end jewellery store in West Hollywood, filed a lawsuit against the rapper.
Brett Alan Nelson, Nicki's stylist, is rumoured to have made a deal with Roseark to borrow jewellery for a public appearance.
According to the contract, the stylist was expected to pay for any damage the jewels would sustain while in his care and return the goods within a week.
Roseark said that some of the items, including a pair of earrings and a leaf ring, had been harmed upon her return. And the stylist has received the bills for the paid damages.
The lawsuit was required since the alleged losses, which totalled $26,239.50 with interest, had not yet been compensated.
Roseark also alleged in the lawsuit that Brett did not deliver 66 pieces of jewellery on time.
However, a source close to Nicki refuted the claims and said that everything was delivered on schedule.
