Nicola Bulley: Friends search for mother of two who got missing 13 days ago
A fortnight after she vanished, Nicola Bulley's friend described the ongoing hunt for the mother-of-two without any closure as "almost like torture."
Emma White claimed that Ms. Bulley's friends and family will never give up hope despite their "unimaginable frustration."
Later, Ms. White joined others holding placards to trigger memories in St. Michael's on Wyre.
Private security has been hired by the locals as a result of an increase of visitors to the town.
It follows the two dispersal notices Lancashire Police issued on Thursday to disperse groups, including amateur investigators and those who were documenting police operations near the scene of Ms. Bulley's disappearance.
Ms. Bulley was last observed on January 27 while walking her dog along the River Wyre.
Although underwater searches have so far been unsuccessful in finding her, police believe she fell into the river.
After Peter Faulding, leader of a specialized diving team, declared that Ms. Bulley was "categorically not" in the section of river where police believe she fell in, they have been expanded to Morecambe Bay and Knott End.
Ms White told BBC Radio 4 Today: "We just need Nikki home for her two beautiful girls who want their mummy.
"It's just rollercoaster, it's almost like torture - just unimaginable frustration in the sense that everyone's come together working so hard, from the police community to people on the ground looking, you expect to be rewarded for when you put hard work in.
"So we just need something, anything - a piece of information that can lead us down a different inquiry."
Before going for a stroll along the river, Ms. Bulley dropped off her two daughters, ages six and nine, at school.
The dog lead and harness were discovered on the ground along with her phone, which was still on a work Teams call, on a bench on a riverbank.
However, detectives said they remained "fully open-minded" to any information that might point to where Ms. Bulley is or what happened to her. Police have rejected claims that she was a victim of crime.
