Nigerian chef Tracy Egboigbodin emerges Masterchef in Italy
A Nigerian chef named Tracy Eboigbodin of Edo State just won the 11th season of the worldwide cooking competition MasterChef, Italy.
The eighth iteration of the annual week of Italian food in the World, which was recently held in Abuja, was marked by the Italian embassy in Nigeria, the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission, and Fraser Suites.
Before enrolling in culinary school, Eboigbodin, who embraced her love of cooking, worked as a waiter for almost 15 years in Italy.
After relocating to Italy 17 years ago, she entered the global cooking competition that is mirrored in over 60 nations.
She said that since being a woman from Edo State and a Nigerian were frequently associated with prostitution and human trafficking, she refused to be constrained by these stereotypes. She regretted, however, that the negative rather than the beneficial contributions made by Nigerians were given more attention.
