Nigerian gospel singer Aduke Gold is dead
Ajayi Aduke Morounkola, better known as Aduke Gold, was a Nigerian gospel singer.
She passed away, on Tuesday morning, Esther Igbekele, her colleague, shared the news of her passing on her Facebook page.
She wrote, “A general has fallen. ADUKE GOLD #rip”
It is unknown what caused the death. She was the eleventh child of her late parents and was raised in the Lagos neighbourhoods of Ogba and Badagry.
Aduke Gold began her professional music career in 2004 and gained recognition for her live performance at the inaugural Baba Are memorial service. She gained notoriety in 2021 after releasing "Nitori Ogo," one of her well-known songs.
In addition to her illustrious musical career, Aduke holds degrees from the UK in child psychology and Lagos State University in history and international relations.
