Nigerian investigative journalist David Hundeyin detained in Zimbabwe

David Hundeyin, a well-known Nigerian investigative journalist, has been held at the Zimbabwean airport in Harare.

On Wednesday night, the contentious journalist made this announcement via his verified Twitter account.

He claimed that because he entered the nation without a visa, the authorities held him.

He claims that despite "using the travel document of a country with a visa-free relationship," they stated that he is still of Nigerian nationality.

Hundeyin said his “return flight to Addis has been rescheduled for tonight,” adding that he is “ready to hop on my flight and never come back to Zimbabwe for the rest of my life.”

In an update shared under his initial thread, the fugitive said he has “been allowed to use the loo for the first time in 10 hours, and I’ve been assured that I will be allowed to catch my exit flight.”
