Nigerian rapper, Ice Prince arrested for assault
Popular rapper Ice Prince was detained by the Lagos State Police Command for reportedly attacking a police officer.
According to Benjamin Hundeyin, the command's Police Public Relations Officer, the musician was taken into custody early on Friday.
He claimed that after being pulled over for driving without license plates, the musician took the officer hostage in his car and beat him.
Hundeyin claimed that the musician threatened to throw the cop in a river in a tweet posted on his Twitter account on Friday.
The tweet read, “At 3 am today, @Iceprincezamani was stopped for driving without license plates. He agreed to be taken to the station.
“He, thereafter, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him and threatened to throw him in the river. He has been arrested and would be arraigned today.â€
