Nigerian troops arrest three suspected bandits, logistics supplier in Taraba
Three suspects have been confirmed as apprehended by 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS). The individuals are thought to have been behind a number of criminal operations in Taraba State.
It was revealed that the suspects—Musta Adamu, Mohammed Bello, and Adamu Abubakar—had been taken into custody on October 7, 2024, in the Andamin village of the Karim Lamido local government council.
They also declared that they had apprehended a major terrorist logistics provider who was collaborating with a well-known terrorist organisation in a separate operation that happened at the Lau local government council of the state.
The announcement, which was made in a statement that the Brigade's acting spokesperson, Captain Oni Olubodunde, made available to journalists in the state capital of Jalingo early on Thursday, stated that a special operation was launched on October 7, 2024, in the Andamin general area of Karim Lamido LGA, and that it was successful in apprehending a few suspected bandits at Jeb, a border community between Taraba and Plateau States.
The troops identified the suspect as Musa Inusa, and they said he was being held for questioning in Lau. It was thought that he was giving supplies and other materials to terrorists that were active in the area.
“His arrest is expected to disrupt the supply chain and further weaken the operational capabilities of the group,” the statement read.
Items taken from him include many illegal narcotics, wraps of material thought to be Indian hemp, a jack knife, and N2,460.
