Nigerian troops rescue 16 abducted persons in Kaduna
According to the Nigerian Army, its soldiers have freed 16 people who were kidnapped by bandits in the Tantatu hamlet in Kajuru LGA, Kaduna state.
Around ten o'clock on Sunday night, robbers broke into the Tantatu village and stole food and other supplies from stores and residences.
During the raid, at least 87 community members were reportedly taken hostage.
This incident represented Kajuru LGA's most recent attack.
Gunmen abducted 14 individuals on Saturday in the Dogon Noma community in Kajuru LGA, Kaduna state.
61 people were kidnapped by bandits in Buda community, which is located in Kajuru LGA in Kaduna state, on Monday.
Around 200 students and learners were abducted on March 7th, when bandits invaded Government Secondary School Kuriga in the state's Chikun LGA.
The army spokesperson, Onyema Nwachukwu, said in a statement on Monday that troops responded to the attack on the village that occurred on Sunday night.
According to Nwachukwu, the kidnapped individuals were saved when the soldiers engaged the bandits in gunfights.
