NNPC increases pump price in Lagos, Abuja
In all of its retail locations, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has raised the price of premium motor spirit (PMS), commonly referred to as petrol. TheCable reported the second October hike on Tuesday.
On October 3, NNPC raised the pump price from N855 per litre, which was set in September, to N998 per litre.
However, the cost of PMS has gone up to N1,025 per litre at the NNPC retail locations in Ago Palace Way, Okota, Lagos.
The commodity was sold for N1,050 per litre at Kubwa, a NNPC retail station in Federal Housing, Abuja. Mobil, Rain Oil, and AA. Rano are among the other private filling stations that have similarly raised their pricing to N1,100 to N1,250 per litre.
Following a protracted period of price discussions, the NNPC began lifting petrol at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery's gantry more than a month ago.
According to the NNPC, gasoline was purchased from the Dangote refinery on September 15 for N898 per litre. NNPC's assertion was refuted by the Dangote refinery, which called it "both misleading and mischievous."
