NNPC Ltd commences construction of five LNG plants in Kogi
As part of its commitment to spearheading the nation's gas revolution, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has announced the start of the construction of five small liquefied natural gas plants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State.
It is anticipated that the effort, which aims to increase Nigeria's domestic gas usage, will improve energy access, encourage industry, and generate employment opportunities.
During the groundbreaking ceremony in Kogi State on Thursday, NNPCL Group Chief Executive Officer Mele Kyari underlined that the location is vital for the plants because the area is already served by the company's pipeline network.
He pointed out that they have gas in their pipeline, which makes it possible to connect easily to the significant infrastructure that is presently being built.
He claims that because of Nigeria's abundant gas resources, President Bola Tinubu has repeatedly emphasised that this is the country's gas revolution.
Gas has the potential to be a game-changing tool for promoting prosperity and growth throughout the country, according to Kyari.
